Cette magnifique restauration, achevée en 2014, a été menée de main de maître. Elle a conservé de nombreuses caractéristiques originales, comme ses poutres et ses pierres apparentes qui font le charme des gîtes du Marais Poitevin. L’atout majeur de cette superbe maison est sa piscine intérieure (7 x 3,2), chauffée toute l’année à 28° : vous pourrez nager par tous les temps, et vous détendre sur les transats de ce grand espace, ou autour de la table. Depuis la piscine de ce grand gîte de groupe en Vendée, une grande porte coulissante donne sur une terrasse privée, éclairée de nuit, particulièrement agréable. Le salon est équipé d’un poêle à bois et la cuisine avec coin-repas est moderne. La chambre du bas est très grande, et les deux chambres de l’étage ont chacune leurs propres salles d’eau.

Dans le village, il y a un petit restaurant très apprécié, des commerces à 2kms, et plusieurs marchés locaux. Les principaux commerces sont à Fontenay le Comte (10km). Maillezais (4km) est célèbre pour son abbaye. Vous serez dans le Marais, et pourrez-vous détendre dans les bateaux fluviaux à louer sur place, faire du vélo ou vous arrêter dans l’un des nombreux cafés qui bordent les canaux.
Les autres « must » sont les visites de la Rochelle, belle ville historique à une heure de route, la côte Vendéenne et ses plages, ainsi que Les Sables d’Olonne, la principale station balnéaire.
Nous avons passé un excellent séjour dans cette jolie et confortable maison . Les photos du site sont conformes à la réalité. Nous avons apprécié de nous t ‘étendre dans la piscine chauffée. Merci au propriétaire pour sa réactivité et sa sympathie. C’est une belle région à visiter

My girlfriend and I stayed at this property in Aug 2014 and it was easily the best value break we have had. The accomodation is very clean and tidy and the friendly owner Mariusz was on hand to help with any of our requests and also to offer friendly tourism information for the area. We spent our time drinking local champagne and eating oysters straight from the sea…. this was a luxury break on a shoestring. We will definately be visiting again in the near future….
My family and I have stayed at numerous self catering properties in France over the years. This is by far the best well presented, spacious property we have stayed in. It is a coverted barn completed to a very high specification. The owner Mariusz is one of the most genuine people I have had the pleasure to meet. Everything from booking the property, to arrival and throughout the holiday was no trouble to him. He was always available if required and allowed us to share in a little glimpse of the wonderful life in france. This consisted of allowing my son to feed the chickens, be involved in harvesting honey from the hives, offering us fish and fresh water languistines from the local rivers / canals. We enjoyed the property and surrounding area so much that we have already re booked to go back. I would describe ‘La Coudreau’ has a small Hamlet within the countryside approximately 50 minutes east of La Rochelle. The location is rural, the local people are very friendly. This area is known as the Venice of france. If you enjoy cycling then there is everything from cycling through the small villages to cycling on the vast net work of canals stopping off at the local small cafes / restaurants or taking a picnic. you can also take canoes on the canals, which can be rented nearby. Fontenay le-comte is nearby where there is a large forest for excellent cycling. La Rochelle is an historic port and very good to visit. as well as having an interesting history, there are museums, restaurants / street entertainers / shops. There are numerous beaches approx 50 minutes away, for you to body board / surf / windsurfing / just relax.
